(Plover, Wisconsin – May 25, 2023) – Gabe Sommers Racing (GSR) is gearing up for an action-packed Memorial Day weekend with two highly anticipated events on the schedule. First up, the No. 15 team will make their way to Jefferson Speedway in Cambridge, WI on Saturday, May 27, to participate in the “Salute the Troops 100,” which marks the third round of the 2023 ASA Midwest Tour season.

Currently sitting in third place in the points standings, just one point behind Bubba Pollard and Steve Apel, Gabe Sommers aims to maintain a strong position while ensuring a clean race. With a remarkable TUNDRA Super Late Model Series victory in 2020 and a second-place finish last year in the Midwest Tour, Sommers has proven his prowess on the technical ¼ mile track. Jefferson Speedway’s unique layout, featuring flat turns one and two, followed by banked turns three and four with multiple racing lines, often leads to thrilling three-wide battles at the start/finish line.

Following the Jefferson Speedway event, GSR will return to their home turf at Golden Sands Speedway in Plover, WI, on Monday, May 29, for the highly anticipated “Trickle 99.” Known as a “soup bowl” among traveling teams due to its high-banked ⅓ mile track, Golden Sands Speedway has witnessed intense battles across all divisions over the years, particularly in the Super Late Models category. With a victory in the TUNDRA Super Late Model Series in 2019 and multiple top-five finishes, the No. 15 crew has consistently demonstrated their expertise at this challenging venue.

For those unable to attend the races in person, you can catch the “Salute the Troops 100” at Jefferson Speedway by tuning into MidwestTour.tv on May 27th at 5 PM CST.
